Wesley O'Quinn MSLicensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate
English Speaking “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
-Carl Rogers Wesley O’Quinn’s journey into the world of therapy wasn’t a traditional one. Originally pursuing a career in Mechanical Engineering, he found himself craving deeper personal connections. As such, he made a bold shift into the field of mental health, where he could combine his analytical mindset with his love for helping others. Wesley earned his Master’s in Couple, Marriage, and Family Therapy from Texas Tech University and has since dedicated himself to guiding individuals, couples, and families toward healing and personal growth.
Wesley’s therapeutic approach is calm, caring, and deeply respectful of each client’s unique experiences. He creates a space where authenticity is encouraged; a space that believes that all people have the capacity for growth and transformation. By integrating present-moment emotional experiences into sessions, he helps clients develop insight, reflection, and meaningful change in their lives. As part of his commitment to effective, evidence-based treatment, Wesley also practices Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a revolutionary approach to treating trauma, anxiety, and other mental health concerns. While Wesley has worked with a wide range of clients, he has found particular success in treating anxiety. He is especially passionate about working with parenting concerns, premarital issues, trauma, and anxiety-related challenges. His ability to meet clients exactly where they are—without judgment but with unwavering support—allows them to take ownership of their experiences and move forward with confidence. Wesley values his clients’ willingness to grow and accept responsibility for how their behaviors impact others. He finds deep fulfillment in showing people that they are not defined by their past experiences and that healing is always within reach. Inspired by Carl Rogers' words, “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change,” Wesley helps his clients embrace self-acceptance as a foundation for personal transformation. A longtime resident of the West Texas region, Wesley grew up in Clovis, NM, before moving to Lubbock in 2016. He’s an avid fan of Seoul Korean Cuisine, where he always orders the bulgogi. When he is outside of the office, you can find him playing darts at Goodline with his wife, catching the latest blockbuster at Tinseltown, or enjoying a musical at the Buddy Holly Hall—especially Les Misérables, his all-time favorite. With his unique background, thoughtful approach, and commitment to client growth, Wesley O’Quinn provides a warm, insightful, and transformative therapy experience.
